Grant has worked in the training and education sector for over 20 years. Grant originally started life in the sector as a Trainer/Assessor for a private training organisation based in Gwent delivering and assessing Apprenticeships in Business Administration, Customer Service, Management and Insurance. He was one of the first Assessors in Wales to deliver the Insurance Apprenticeship Level 3 and went on to become Training Manager managing a large team of Trainers. Grant then spent a short time working in a FE institution before moving to a training provider in Bridgend as Director of Operationsheading up a senior team and running a successful work based training provider.
Grant joined Educ8 in 2007 and works alongside Colin Tucker who is the Chief Executive. In 10 years the business has grown from just over 20 staff to over 120 and for the past three years has successfully achieved the Top Times 100 Best Companies to Work for coming 6th place in 2017.
An MBA qualified management professional, Grant has a thorough understanding of business strategy and a comprehensive understanding of the work based learning market place and the education environment. Grant enjoys working with businesses helping implement change management strategies and developing an ethos of life-long learning.
For the past 7 years Grant has been a qualified Peer Inspector with HMI Estyn and has in-depth knowledge and experience working with Estyn as both an Inspector and as a nominee during the inspection process.
Grant is passionate about vocational education and the quality of teaching and learning and developing a culture and ethos within an organisation where individuals can grow, develop and achieve their ambitions and aspirations. Core values are an essential part of his philosophy and this has been the cornerstone of success for Educ8.
