Llechwen Hall Hotel won the Contrubution to the Rural Economy Award at this year's awards, which was kindly sponsored by Cwm a Mynydd. We caught up with them after and here's what they had to say:
1.) How did it feel to win a Caerphilly Business Forum Award?
The feeling of elation was amazing! We feel so proud of the team for achieving this great award with their hard work and passion.
2.) How did you find the experience of the Awards night?
It was a grand night superbly executed by all concerned and hosted beautifully.
3.) How do you strive to make a difference in the Caerphilly business market?
We strive to not only bring volumes of outside business to the hotel which adds to local tourism and business, but we also strive to provide as many local people both young and older with the opportunity to work with us.
4.) What are your goals for the next 12 months?
The continued expansion and conclusion of the hotel extension.
We will be working towards our AA 4-star rating.
Further development of our rural initiative will continue with additions to our hives and the further planning of a hotel garden in which we can produce our own fruit and vegetables for us in our dishes.
5.) What is the biggest lesson you have learned in the last 12 months of your business?
You are only ever as good as your last action. Constant pressure is needed to maintain success.
6.) What one piece of advice would you give to any aspiring entrepreneurs?
Do your research, know your market.
Listen to the numbers, if they don’t add up, don’t just do it anyway to fulfil a dream.
Getting a business up and running is the easy bit! Maintaining success is where the true entrepreneur shows their colours.
